Hunterslea Koolies

My husband purchased Penny, a red merle, in 1965 from Chum Davis at Cessnock N.S.W. She was an outstanding worker and her pups were in great demand.
Penny was joined to a Schiltz dog from Stroud, (he was a blue merle) from this union, along came Shep. Ken and I started seriously breeding Koolies in 1970, as we were both being employed mustering cattle on a large property.
2. Shep was bred to Gypsey - breeder unknown = Speck
3. Speck was bred to Rip - H. Wilson = Cheater
4. Cheat was bred to Snow - S. Grant = Shy
5. Shy was bred to Boss - M. Herford, Cooma = Sally
6. Sally was bred to Rover - J.Simpson, Scone = Gundy
7. Gundy was bred to Nell - T.Lamb, Gosford = Libb & Emmy
8. Libb was bred to Rip - breeder unknown = Tammy & Jess
Emmy was bred to Rip - breeder unknown = 3 pups K.Payne
9. Tammy & Jess & 3 pups of K. Payne are 9th generation of Hunterslea Koolies

Smokey was bred by H. Wilson of Stroud. Smokey's sire was a son of Shep and Gypsey. His mother was bred by Rex Hicks of Bretti. We got Smokey as a little pup.
Due to misfortune, the following koolie line was almost lost. But it has been outcrossed with many reputable breeders.
Smokey was bred to Cher - P. Horne = Chad
Chad was bred to Lassie - R & C Bellinger = Darcy
Darcy was bred to Cookie - B. Field = May

Shelly, I purchase from Angela Borelli of Phillip Island.
If Shelly and May work out as hoped, they will later be used by me to continue on with my Koolie breeding.

We breed selectively and welcome enquiries from good working homes.
