Robert Cox Workshop held 1st May 2005

Elmore Field Days Site

Elmore, northern Victoria

Dives Dylan (T&K Dive)

The weather was fine, the sheep were feisty and we were keen!  The perfect setting for our first

professional sheep dog training workshop.  We were very pleased to have Robert Cox a renowned trainer from

N.S.W. come to hold our first workshop. Many participants were very new to sheep handling and most of the

dogs had very little experience with or had not seen sheep before.  But by the end of the weekend, thanks to

Robert's gentle manner and dog friendly techniques nearly all were happily mixing it with the sheep.  In fact

there was only one dog who really didn't want to lower himself to the occasion but happily cheered from the

                                        side lines.

We also welcomed some visitors for the day including two German Shepherds and we were all thrilled to see

                                        them doing what came naturally.

A big thank you to all the members that hopped in and helped for the day, particularly the Sydney contingent.

Thank you also to Michele Wilkins, who kindly donated the trophies presented both days, also the Elmore Field

Days Committee who were so helpful and accommodating.  Thank you to participants who bought up the raffle

tickets and helped cover our venue costs, a big chunk of the prizes traveled back to Sydney.

Stay tuned for information on future workshops.  If you want to have heaps of fun with your dog and fellow

members, see your dog shine while doing what he is bred for, join us for the next workshop.
